The Maintenance Reminder give you an indication of the things to have done to your car to keep in running properly during it's life..
They are summarized as Main items such as A or B and Sub items 1 through 5. These vary with each model. I recommend calling Rick to
explain what your car's needs are when your Maintenance Reminder recommends something.

Something new at my house, A 2006 Honda CR-V EX, the last year a manual transmission was available in that model.

I now have 2 cars for sale:
My 1991 Honda Accord EX Station Wagon with 211,000 miles that runs great and a 1988 Honda Prelude 4WS manual transmission with
164.000 miles.that also runs great. The Prelude has been garaged on and off for over 4years. Any offers?? Both cars come with mounted
Studded snow tires as well as conventional tires also mounted on alloy wheels.

Guide to Safe Driving in A Snow Storm

Hi everyone,

That snow storm last week was just a tease. I expect that before long we will get a real one soon. A few thoughts relating to that:

Make sure you have good tires with plenty of tread.

Always keep your fuel tank above 1/2 tank.

Have AAA phone number programmed into your cell phone (or another emergency phone number). Have warm clothes and a blanket to prepare yourself for an overnight in your car if necessary.

Have water and snacks.

CBS news also had a "Guide to Safe Driving in A Snow Storm" which I will summarize.

Remove all snow and ice from your vehicle including the roof before driving.

Drive with your headlights on. For those who have automatic headlights make sure you actually turn your light switch on so your taillights are on as well.

Wear your seat belt.

Drive for conditions, 4wd will not help you stop any faster.

Allow more space between the cars ahead of you.

Avoid sudden actions such as steering,braking or accelerating to lessen chances of losing control of your car.

Watch the cars ahead, their actions may forewarn you of conditions ahead and give you more time to react.

Avoid using cruise control so you will not be too relaxed and complacent.

When coming up on a snowplow, do not crowd the plow and use extra caution when near them.

AAA recommendations for winter driving

Prepare for winter by doing the following:

1. Check your battery and charging system, drive belts, battery cables and
clamps.
2. Check cooling system, check system for leaks, brittle or cracked hoses,
coolant level and strength(freezing point).
3. Check tire type and tread depth, replace any tire that is worn below
4/32- inch tread depth, inflate to specified pressure.
4. Check engine air filter and cabin pollen filter.
5. Check all lights, wipers, washer fluid and function of washer system.
6. Check brakes, have us inspect them for pad thickness rotor condition and
caliper function,
7. Check that transmission, brake and power steering fluids are above the
minimum recommended level.

If you bring your car to LBJ for this AAA recommended "Winter Prep Service"
The cost will be $99.67.

LBJ will call for authorization if any parts are required.

AAA also recommends carrying a Emergency Road Kit consisting of :
Small bag of sand or cat litter.
Small snow shovel.
Flashlight with extra batteries.
Ice scraper
Windshield washer solvent.
Roll of paper towels
Jumper cables
Blanket
Warm clothing, gloves,hats, scarves.
Warning devices, flares, reflective triangles.
Basic tool kit, adjustable wrench, screw driver. vise grip pliers.
Cell phone. If you have a smart phone you can download a free AAA app
from android or iPhone markets.
Snacks and water.
